SAVKAT Solar’s CEO Steve Salansky On Great Day Connecticut

July 19, 2023

It’s a Great Day at SAVKAT! On June 6th, Scot Haney from Great Day Connecticut sat down with SAVKAT’s CEO Steve Salansky to discuss commonly asked questions when going solar, the history of SAVKAT, and how homeowners save money when installing solar panels on their homes.
Founded in 2017 by Steve Salansky and Liz Karnuk,  SAVKAT has since grown to have just under 100 employees, and ranks as the #9 SunPower dealer in the country out of over 600 dealers (2022).
SAVKAT selected SunPower as a partner because they are a leader in the renewable energy space, offering the best solar panels and solar storage solutions on the market.
During the interview, Scot asks “what does ‘No Cost Solar’ really mean.” Steve explains that when you install a solar system on your home, you are essentially shifting the money used in purchasing energy from the utility to paying for your own energy generation system at a lower, fixed cost.
“And why wouldn’t everybody want to do this” Scot asks. Steve explains that once consumers are educated about how solar works, and understand the benefits, they do decide to make the switch. SAVKAT’s goal is to inform the public and their customers in an open and honest way about their solar options, guiding them to make an informed decision.
Steve goes on to explain what to expect when going solar. The end result: The customer’s utility costs go down. They are lowering their monthly bill, and locking in a stable rate.
What makes SAVKAT different from other solar installers? Many solar companies only sell the system, meaning they write the contract and then pass the installation and service along to third parties. Should the customer ever have an issue, they won’t know who to call to rectify the situation.
SAVKAT is a brick and mortar business, so they will always be available, even years after the installation has been complete, to assist should anything come up. Their staff works diligently to meet customer needs, always striving to provide the same 5-star service that they’ve delivered to thousands of customers throughout New England.
